Your Library news
‌

Hello and welcome to your October newsletter!

‌
‌

This month we are pleased to announce that Dr Karina Lamb will be starting as our new Chief Executive. Karina is coming to Your Library from the Shire of Hepburn, where she has been the Director of Community and Corporate. She is currently the Vice President of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), and has a passionate interest in libraries as a place for community connection and learning.

October is also the focus for History, Seniors and Mental Health. There are special activities to celebrate all three at Your Library.

We have so many authors lined up this month, it will be hard to choose which books to read first!  Joe Bakhmoutski is speaking about finding hope amongst uncertainty at Knox, while Rebecca L. Stewart will share her unusual approach to making a graphic novel at Healesville. Leah Kaminsky is back to talk about her new book at Rowville, and Casey Nott will discuss her debut novel Forgotten, at Bayswater.

Poetry is being celebrated throughout Spring at Miller's Homestead and all visitors are invited to add their own verse to the Poet-tree and bring the wall of words to life.

Whatever your reading taste, we hope you find something to enjoy!
