The weather is still warm, but summer is drawing to a close. Happily, there are lots of events to look forward to as we move into autumn!

The BIG Summer Read has now concluded. The statewide winner will be announced on 12 February. Our Your Library winner will be announced in coming days.

It’s your last chance to vote in Reader’s Choice, which ends on 11 February. Your favourite read of 2023 can be Fiction or Non Fiction, any format, Adult or Children’s, a brand new release or a classic that you’ve never read before.

Miller’s Homestead is hosting the B is for Bravo exhibition during opening hours, until 15 March. The exhibition of extraordinary dioramas by author/illustrator Kevin Burgemeestre celebrates 100 years of aviation and introduces children to the phonetic alphabet. Don't forget, entrance to Miller's Homestead is free!

Meet author Robyn Bishop at Yarra Junction Library, on 29 February at 2pm. Robyn’s historical novel, The Rust Red Land, is based on the life of her grandmother, Matilda Crawford.

Our autumn 'What's on' will be available on our website and in branches in early March. We look forward to welcoming you to Your Library soon!

New Knox Library

The new Knox Library is opening soon!

The new Knox Library will open to the public at 9am on Friday, 8 March!
Our amazing new library will be located at Westfield Knox, 425 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South, above Rebel.

To prepare for the big move, Knox Express will be closing its doors from 5pm, Sunday 25 February. While we're closed, Storytimes will be held at Westfield Knox - details to follow soon on Facebook.

Robyn Bishop is a Melbourne-based author and playwright. The Rust Red Land is her second novel and is based on the life of her grandmother. This sweeping novel brings to life the injustices faced by women in the 1800s and 1900s.

English paper piecing: Slow stitching - the art of meditative stitch

 Join textile artist Natasja van Wyk and learn the art of English Paper Piecing. In this workshop, you will receive a comprehensive demonstration of drawing, cutting, and hand-piecing patchwork blocks for quilting. Take home a completed quilt block to start your quilt. All levels of experience are welcome. A full kit will be provided. Ages 15-adult. (Cost $5) Bookings required.
