Hello and welcome to December at Your Library!

‌
‌

Two fun reading programs launch at Your Library this month:

The BIG Summer Read encourages kids to log their summer reading and go into the draw for some great prizes. Register on Beanstack and start recording now!

What was the best book you read this year? We will be running Reader's Choice again, asking for your favourite read of 2023. Last year, there were two equal winners: 'Lessons in Chemistry' by Bonnie Garmus and 'Ten Steps to Nanette' by Hannah Gadsby. We're excited to see the nominations this year!

Finally, some library opening hours will be changing during the Christmas-New Year period. Please check the details for your local branch, and don't forget to stock up on good reads to enjoy over the summer.

Happy holidays from everyone at Your Library!

Big Summer Read
‌

The BIG Summer Read is here!

Join. Borrow. Read. Win!

The BIG Summer Read has officially started! The BIG Summer Read is a statewide summer reading campaign for children and young people, open to anyone aged 0-18. The aim is to encourage kids to read for pleasure and beat the ‘summer slide’ – the loss of literacy development over the long summer break when kids aren’t exposed to books or reading at school.

There are a number of ways to register:
• Download the Beanstack app
• Pick up a Big Summer Read bookmark at your local library and scan the QR code
• Visit plv.beanstack.org

The BIG Summer Read is delivered in partnership with Public Libraries Victoria, Bolinda BorrowBox, Story Box Library and School Library Association Victoria.
